How to Live Well in These Exponential Times

what happens in an internet minute infographicYou may have heard the old phrase ”in a New York minute” to describe something that happened very quickly. A new term might be better to reflect today’s fast pace of business: ”in an internet minute.”

A surprising infographic from Intel describes exactly what happens in an internet minute. More than 200 million emails are sent. Each minute people view 20 million photos on Flickr, and Facebook has 6 million views. Extrapolating from Intel’s data, by 2015 it would take you 300 years…yes, years…to view all the videos crossing IP networks each minute.

We’re undoubtedly living in exponential times. The pace of change in our personal lives is matched by the speed of transformation in business. Our markets, our assumptions, our industries, our companies, our stakeholders’ needs — all are experiencing evolutionary or revolutionary changes more rapidly than ever before.

Adapt or die, you may say. But that could be much easier for you to do at the top. How exactly do you prime your leadership teams and employees to thrive in times of exponential change? How can you best prepare them for the new realities you can envision?

Do you have a robust cultural change vision and plan for living well in these exponential times? Ask, assess then act. We’re here to help!
